Alptrees conference 25th and 26th of February
The Digital Conference on sustainable use and management of non-native trees in urban, peri-urban and forest ecosystems in the Alpine region was organised by the Interreg ALPTREES project, of which IIASA is a partner. The ALPTREES project is a transnational cooperation for sustainable use and management of non-native trees in urban, peri-urban and forest ecosystems in the Alpine region. It aims to develop a transnational strategy for the responsible use and management of non-native trees in the Alpine region using an integrated decision support system.
The ALPTREES conference took place on 25 and 26 February and provided a platform for citizens, experts, young adults and stakeholders to share their experiences and views on alien trees and climate change in the Alpine region, as well as other related topics for oral or poster presentations and workshops. The online conference included keynote presentations, poster sessions and a policy workshop to develop a strategy for the sustainable use of non-native trees.
